Terms
of use.
The rules for the site and the three programs, written to be read. Where the law gives you more rights, the law prevails.
Version 1 · October 2026Acceptance
These terms apply to the KeepWards site and to the programs KeepWards Antivirus, KeepWards Cleaner and KeepWards Block (Freedom, Family and Business editions). By using the site or installing a program, you agree to what is here. If you don't agree, don't install.
You must have legal capacity to contract. Whoever installs Block on behalf of another person (a child or an employee, for example) declares that they may do so and that the person was informed of the block.
License to use
KeepWards grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the programs on the computers you use.
You may: install, use, keep a backup copy of the installer, restore files from quarantine and consult the code that comes with the program to understand how it works.
You may not: resell, rent, redistribute the installer, sublicense, remove brand and license notices, or use the program to attack, spy on or harm others.
Each license covers one computer.
How the program is delivered
The programs are provided "as is" and "as available". This means we do not guarantee that they will work without interruption, or that they will serve any specific purpose of yours.
Trial versions are identified as such. They may change, lose features or be discontinued without notice, and have no support period.
Product limits
KeepWards Antivirus does on-demand scanning. It has no real-time protection, uses no kernel driver, does not remove rootkits and depends on the signature lists you import. False positives and false negatives are to be expected.
We do not guarantee detection of any specific threat. The full list of limits is in this section and is part of these terms.
KeepWards Antivirus
On-demand scanning: the program analyzes when you tell it to and does not monitor downloads, USB, email or the browser. It does not replace an antivirus with continuous protection and works best as a second opinion on what is sitting on the machine.
It uses no driver or kernel: it does not intercept execution, cannot see the memory of other processes, has no self-protection and does not remove rootkits. It does not unpack or emulate code and does not open compressed files. By default, files above 2 GiB are logged as skipped.
Only the EICAR test signature is built in; real detection depends on the lists and rules you import. There is no automatic update and no cloud. Quarantine is not authenticated, and isolating a file with hardlinks removes only one name. The package is signed by Microsoft in the store; outside it, Windows warns about an unknown publisher.
KeepWards Cleaner
The memory gain is temporary: Windows reoccupies part of what was freed, and the cleanup helps at the moment your computer slows down. The Microsoft Store version does not run as Administrator; because of that, 5 of the 11 memory areas and part of the system junk are left out (the program says which), and the Windows registry is not cleaned.
Windows does not allow another program to disable startup items: Cleaner shows the list and points to the path. Automatic cleaning runs while the tray icon is open. When the 7-day trial ends, cleanups stay off until the license is purchased. Emptying the Recycle Bin cannot be undone in Windows.
KeepWards Block
Formatting the computer, factory-resetting the phone or replacing the router erases the block. Each device needs its own installation. VPNs, custom DNS or tunnels on an unmanaged device bypass the DNS filter, and a personal phone outside management is not covered. On iOS protection is reduced, because Apple does not allow the same level of lock as Android. The block works by category and by address and does not replace an acceptable-use policy.
The Family and Business editions are not yet on sale: there is no price, plan or waiting list.
Quarantine is reversible precisely because the program can make mistakes. Restoring a file is your decision, with the integrity check done by the program.
KeepWards Block
Block has three editions; today only Freedom is on sale. In the Freedom edition, Block is a block that is irreversible once activated: there is no password, off button or support mode that undoes it from the app, not for you, not for us.
Before activation, the program shows a warning and asks for a typed confirmation. By confirming, you accept that the block will not be removed by the app.
Declared limits, which are not defects: formatting the computer, factory-resetting the phone or replacing the router erases the block; another device does not inherit the configuration without its own installation.
The seven-day right of withdrawal, provided by the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code, returns the amount paid and does not undo the block. This is disclosed before purchase.
Releasing a site blocked by mistake is done through list review, and applies to all users; there is no individual unblocking, not even for the buyer.
The Family and Business editions have an administrator (the parents or IT), who is the only one who adjusts the rules, with strong authentication and a waiting period. The specific terms for these editions will be published before sale.
Carrier modem blocking
To block inappropriate content on all devices in the home — not just the computer and phone — Block also acts on the modem/router installed by the carrier. With the authorization you give here, the program uses the device's own administrator access, including creating or using a superuser account on the modem, to point DNS to the filter and lock alternative ports.
By accepting these terms you declare that you are responsible for the connection and the device, and you authorize these changes — made at your address, on behalf of those who live with you, and only to block inappropriate content.
We use every available technical means to block this content. This is one of them, and it is written here so you know exactly what the program does on your equipment.
The device remains the carrier's property (loan). It may reverse the configuration remotely; when that happens, the program redoes it and logs it. If the device is replaced or reset, the configuration is lost and must be applied again.
Store distribution
Antivirus delivery is planned through the Microsoft Store, as a package signed by Microsoft. When you install from there, the store's terms and policies also apply to distribution, billing and refunds. Where they conflict with these terms, the store's terms prevail for that channel.
Brand and content
KeepWards, the shield and the names of the three products are trademarks of the company. Using the site or the programs does not grant a trademark license: for press, partners and store use, follow the brand kit.
The text, design and code of the site and programs are ours. Quoting with a link and credit is allowed; copying to publish as your own is not.
Changes and termination
These terms may change when the product changes. The date at the top follows the published version, and the change does not apply to what has already happened.
We may end the supply of a trial version at any time. If there is a sale, termination respects the contracted period and the law.
Law and jurisdiction
These terms follow Brazilian law. For consumers, the venue is the buyer's home jurisdiction, as the Consumer Protection Code requires. In other cases, the venue is the district of KeepWards' headquarters.
